Recent months have seen much discussion surrounding
a small village some nine miles south-west of Larnaca. The reason for this can be found in the
fact that this small, agricultural community is
supposed to be home to the Tersefanou Golf Course, the
most prestigious venue of its kind in eastern Cyprus.
A Fully-Featured Golf Resort
Designed and backed by the PGA, the planned championship
standard course was planned as part of a wider residential
and leisure complex, which would include a large
number of luxurious homes, a fully featured retail
village, six-star hotel, health spa and fitness
centre and, last but most certainly not least,
a clubhouse with bars, restaurants, a cigar room, a library,
and a pro-shop amongst its many other amenities. |

Spectacular Sea Views
The site certainly has much to recommend it, and as you stand on the gently rolling hills surrounding
what is set to become the very heart of the forthcoming
golfing complex, your view extends down to the clear blue
waters of the Mediterranean Sea. Between the Tersefanou
Golf Course (also known as the Larnaca
Golf Course), you will notice a few settlements stretched across
the vista.
These are the communities of Kiti and Pervolia as well
as the small village of Meneou. Nestled to the south of
Larnaca, they are located around three or four miles from
the forthcoming golf course, thus providing a close proximity
and easy access to the facility, without the need or expense of having
to live within its boundaries. |
Villages close to Tersefanou Golf Course have increased in popularity with buyers
The seafront village of Pervolia especially, has proven
a popular destination with British homebuyers in the years leading up to the global economic downturn of 2008, as its closeness to Tersefanou and Larnaca
International Airport, combined with its beachfront location
and largely traditional atmosphere have proved to be as
large an attraction for British Expatriates as the hype surrounding the new golf course itself.
Kiti is set along the main road between the airport and
Tersefanou and, as such, is a thriving, self-sufficient
little community quite literally only a couple of miles
from Tersefanou village and around the same distance from
the Sea. Home to all the amenities one would expect from
a community of around three thousand inhabitants, including
supermarkets, bars, restaurants and assorted other retail
outlets. The past four years have seen a massive expansion of Kiti's infrastructure, to the point where the little town now even boasts its own Pizza Hut.
