Much has changed since 1994
Now, over a decade later, the course has been completely re-designed, and brought to championship standard. More facilities and amenities, such as a fitness and health centre, fine restaurant, and the obligatory retail village, have also been added to lend a more complete feeling to the resort than it previously sported.
Tsada's revamp comes as part of a drive by the Cypriot government, led by the Ministry of Tourism, to develop Cyprus as a top-class golfing destination. This drive, initiated in 2006, saw the issuing of fourteen in-principle permits for new golf courses and resorts.

What more ideal location could a golfer wish for than Cyprus?
No frosty mornings, howling winds, driving rain, impenetrable fog, and dozens of lost balls. The whole year round you can play to your heart’s content without the customary handicaps facing players in the UK, especially after the heavy flooding seen in recent times. |
However, back to Tsada golf course...
As previously stated, opened back in April of 1994 and perched high on the coastal hills above Paphos, the Tsada Golf Course was the first grass course in Cyprus to be officially opened to the public. Measuring six thousand and sixty metres and playing to a par 72, the course was originally designed by Donald Steel as two interconnecting nine-hole courses set in the picturesque grounds of a twelfth century monastery, complete with resident ghost.
Many players claim to have seen the ghost of a monk in the disused monastery when teeing off on the seventh,
though it's generally assumed that this ghost story simply makes a jolly good excuse for a diabolical drive.
Lined with grapevines, fruit and olive trees and other local plant life, the Tsada Golf Course makes for a relaxing, yet surprisingly challenging playing experience, due to its clever design which takes full advantage of the local geography. At the clubhouse, you’ll find a bar & restaurant, an indoor swimming pool, tennis court, showers, changing rooms and all the other facilities usually associated with a golf club, including a pro-shop and golf academy, complete with resident PGA professional.
The end of the 2006 season marked a turning point in the history of Tsada Golf Club since, after operating continuously for over twelve years, both the course and the clubhouse were in need of remodelling. Works continued throughout the winter and, rather predictably, overran their April 2007 deadline. June however, saw the reopening of the Tsada Golf Course, now rebranded as Minthis Hills, in all its remodelled glory, ready to retake its place as a prime golfing venue, even in the face of all the new courses being planned and constructed.
