The beautiful Oroklini
hills provide a splendid backdrop for the villages of
Oroklini and Pyla.

You will have the opportunity to get a taste of the
hospitality and culture of a traditional Cypriot village
with the taverns playing local characteristic Greek
tunes and its narrow streets in this peaceful area which
is placid, quiet and colourful with wonderful beaches
and sandy bays. This is undoubtedly the best way to
experience the fun loving Cypriots’ authentic
way of life, customs and rich traditions.
Historically, Oroklini is described
as "an ancient village marked on old maps by a
number of roughly-built, deserted chapels in the nearby
areas next to a mountainside” and appears as "Voroklini"
on Venetian maps.
With a population of 2000, Oroklini village has all
the amenities of essential stores such as green grocers,
pharmacists, supermarkets, bakers and butchers. It boasts
a number of take-aways and cafes and four excellent
restaurants. There are three churches, a primary school,
a gym and a Bank of Cyprus.
For evening entertainment, the restaurants, bowling
alley and multi-plex cinema of Larnaca are just 10 minutes
by car from the village of Oroklini and the beach is
only just a five minute drive away. Hopefully, work
will commence soon on a planned golf course. There is
also a horse riding and go-kart centre.
Recently in this area the growth of property has been
quite busy. Having the facilities of a larger town like
Larnaca only minutes away gives you the perfect opportunity
of living in a village, because of the easy access to
the Ayia Napa to Paphos motorway, which makes anywhere
in the island very easy to get to.
There are countless opportunities to buy and have your
own custom designed property with mountain and sea views
or to purchase townhouses, villas and apartments in
complexes.
Pyla & Pyla Bay
An atmosphere of rural peace is projected around the
British Sovereign Base area of which the village is
nestled up against. Cypriot life continues unaffected
by the green line which is less than a mile away.
With its fine beaches, Pyla Bay has attracted the main
hotels of the Larnaca district.
All areas of Cyprus can be conveniently reached from
Pyla, including Dhekelia (the UK Sovereign Base), due
to its good road network and central location.
Pyla Bay is within easy reach of all of the facilities
of Larnaca town, but does also have its own nightlife
with a bowling alley and plenty of clubs and restaurants.
One of the leading property hotspots in Cyprus is Oroklini,
Pyla's immediate neighbour to the west.
