Latchi
Village & the Akamas Peninsula
Only 36 km from Pafos and approximately 3 km from
Polis on the north western coast is the quiet fishing
village of Latchi. Situated along the pretty harbour
are some of the best fish restaurants alongside the
bars and cafes. This quaintly picturesque fishing
village is where fanatics of fresh seafood should
make their way.
In the past, carobs were shipped at the small port
of Latchi. The old stone carob warehouses are all
now restaurants, fish taverns and shops.
This is an excellent hot spot for Cyprus property,
partly because of the new enlarged capacity Marina
in the Latchi fishing harbour, as well as the community's
proximity to the beautiful Akamas peninsula. Latchi
has all the cycle rides, mountain walks, forests,
beautiful beaches, traditional villages and wineries
right on its doorstep.

The
Blue Flag Beaches of Latchi
Fantastic sunsets are the norm at the larger sandier
beaches to the west. The beaches to the north carry
the EU blue flag award, are immaculately clean and
are mainly covered with a fine shingle.
Water sports such as parasailing are available at Latchi harbour
and you can take a hire boat to the Blue Lagoon and swim in the emerald
green sea.
The unspoiled Akamas National Park with its fantastic landscape
and views still attracts thousands of visitors who
enjoy this area, only just over 3 kilometres from
Latchi.
The nature trails in the Akamas National Park are
ideal for biking, jogging and walking and also located
here is a natural grotto called the Bath of Aphrodite
where, according to legend, the goddess of Aphrodite
used to have her beauty baths. |
